If you had to get a tattoo right now, what would it be and why?
What Would Your Tattoo Say About You?
At first, this might seem like a simple question about art, style, or personal expression. But sometimes the answer can reveal much more about what is happening beneath the surface.
A tattoo can represent a memory, a person, a lesson, a season of life, or even a reminder of how far you’ve come. Some people choose words that give them strength. Others choose symbols connected to family, love, loss, freedom, faith, or transformation.
So, if you had to choose one today, what would yours represent?
Maybe it would be a butterfly because you’re becoming someone new.
Maybe it would be a date that changed your life.
Maybe it would be a word such as strength, healing, peace, courage, or hope.
Or perhaps you wouldn’t choose a tattoo at all. Maybe your answer would simply be, “I don’t know yet.”
And that’s okay too.
What Does Your Choice Say About You?
Our choices can sometimes give us an opportunity to pause and reflect on feelings we don’t always take time to acknowledge.
Ask yourself:
- What does my tattoo represent?
- Why does this symbol, word, or image matter to me?
- Is it connected to something I’ve experienced?
- Does it represent who I am now or who I want to become?
- What emotion comes up when I think about it?
There isn’t a right or wrong answer.
Listen to Yourself
The purpose isn’t to analyze yourself perfectly. It’s simply to listen to yourself.
The reason I will get a tattoo that says “HEAR TO HEAL: YOUR MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS” is because this message represents so much more than a phrase to me. It represents my purpose, my journey, and my commitment to reminding people that their feelings deserve to be heard.
I believe healing begins when we stop silencing what hurts and give ourselves permission to speak, reflect, and be honest about what we carry. Hear to Heal was created from that belief—that sometimes we need a safe space to express what we cannot always say out loud.
This tattoo will be a permanent reminder that mental health matters, our stories matter, our emotions matter, and healing matters. It will remind me of why I started Hear to Heal and the people I hope it reaches.
I’m not just getting the words tattooed on my body. I’m carrying the mission with me.
HEAR TO HEAL
Your Mental Health Matters. ❤️
Your Story Deserves a Place to Be Heard
Mental wellness isn’t always about having the perfect words for what you’re feeling. Sometimes healing begins with simply giving yourself permission to express what’s inside.
That is one of the ideas behind Hear to Heal—creating a private space where you can slow down, reflect, express your emotions, and interact with your thoughts without judgment. The Hear to Heal book and the app gives you space to be heard letting you know you are not alone.
You don’t have to know exactly what you need to say.
You can start with a question.
You can start with a memory.
You can start with one word.
You can even start with a tattoo you haven’t gotten yet.

Your Turn
If you had to get a tattoo right now, what would it be and why?
Take a few minutes to write your answer. Don’t worry about making it sound perfect. Be honest.
Sometimes a simple question can open the door to a much deeper conversation with yourself.
Your story matters. Your feelings matter. Your mental health matters.
Hear it. Express it. Reflect on it. Begin to heal.
