Take Care of Mental Health

What’s a promise you made to yourself that you’ve actually kept?

I promised myself that I would protect my mental health at all costs.

That promise has shaped the way I live my life, the decisions I make, and even the books I write.

For years, I poured into everyone else—family, work, responsibilities, and serving my community. Somewhere along the way, I realized that if I wasn’t taking care of myself, I couldn’t truly show up for anyone else. Mental health isn’t selfish. It’s survival. It’s strength. And it’s one of the greatest investments we can make in ourselves.

That’s one of the reasons I created Hear to Heal—a guided journal designed to help people process emotions, reflect honestly, practice grounding techniques, and remember that healing is possible one day at a time. The journal was created as a compassionate companion with reflection prompts, affirmations, grounding exercises, coping tools, and resources that encourage emotional wellness and hope.

Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. Some days you may want the quiet comfort of writing in a journal. Other days, you may need immediate guidance, encouragement, or a voice reminding you that you’re not alone. That’s why Hear to Heal is available in more than one format—to meet you where you are, when you need it most.

The Hear to Heal Premium Journal

The Hear to Heal Premium Journal is your personal healing companion. It provides guided journal prompts, grounding exercises, affirmations, coping strategies, habit trackers, reflection pages, and therapeutic writing activities designed to help you process emotions, build resilience, and find hope one page at a time.

The Hear to Heal Companion App

The Hear to Heal Companion App extends your healing journey beyond the pages of this journal. Whether you’re at home, at work, traveling, or facing a difficult moment, the app is designed to provide compassionate support exactly when you need it. With guided reflections, emotional check-ins, calming exercises, and supportive tools, it offers comfort and direction wherever life finds you.

Healing on Your Terms

Some people heal best by writing. Others connect through guided audio, interactive tools, or quick emotional check-ins. Many benefit from using both together.

Whether you choose the journal, the companion app, or both, Hear to Heal was created to provide a safe space that helps you navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, hope, and emotional resilience.

No matter where you are in your journey—or what you’re carrying today—you don’t have to face it alone.

Hear to Heal is here to meet you where you are, comfort you in your present moment, and gently guide you toward healing, one step at a time.

But my healing doesn’t stop at journaling.

One of the ways I reset my mind is through travel.

Several times each year, I intentionally plan budget-friendly trips—not because I’m running away from life, but because I’m running toward peace, clarity, and new perspective. Traveling allows me to disconnect from daily stress, reconnect with myself, and return home refreshed.

People often assume travel has to be expensive, but I’ve learned that you can experience incredible destinations without overspending. My book, Luxury Travel on a Budget, shares practical strategies for traveling smarter through careful planning, flexible scheduling, travel rewards, and budget-conscious decisions that make meaningful experiences more accessible.

For me, every trip is more than a vacation.

It’s a reminder to breathe.

To slow down.

To experience God’s beautiful creation.

To create memories instead of collecting more stress.

Whether it’s listening to the ocean, exploring a new culture, walking through a city I’ve never seen before, or simply enjoying a quiet sunrise, travel has become part of my mental wellness routine.

Protecting your mental health may look different for everyone. For some, it’s therapy. For others, it’s prayer, exercise, journaling, setting healthy boundaries, or taking a much-needed break. Whatever it looks like, give yourself permission to choose yourself without guilt.

The promise I made to myself was simple:

Choose peace. Protect your mind. Prioritize your healing.

And every time I open my Hear to Heal journal or board another plane for a much-needed reset, I’m keeping that promise.

How about you? What’s one promise you’ve made to yourself that you’re still committed to keeping?
