If Something Could Be Named After Me, I’d Want It to Be a Street!

If you could have something named after you, what would it be?

Hollywood Star Wouldn’t Be Enough!

If I could have something named after me, it would not be a Hollywood star not to offend anyone.

As beautiful as recognition can be, I’ve never measured success by fame or flashing lights. For me, true success is rooted in impact, sacrifice, growth, and the legacy I leave behind. If there were ever something I would want named after me, it would be a street.

A street represents more than a name on a sign. It represents a path. A journey. A direction. A place where people pass through, grow, build families, create memories, and move forward in life. When I think about everything I’ve endured, overcome, and accomplished, a street feels symbolic of the life I’ve lived and the legacy I hope to leave.

There was a time in my life when things were not always structured, polished, or easy.

I know what it feels like to strive while carrying multiple responsibilities at once. I know what it feels like to work two jobs, go to school, and still carry the weight of motherhood every single day. I know what it means to push through exhaustion, uncertainty, and sacrifice in the name of building something better.

There were seasons when I could not spend the amount of time with my children that I truly wanted to because I was trying to survive, provide, and create a future for us. And that reality came with both pain and purpose. I was not absent because I didn’t care — I was grinding because I cared deeply. I was laying bricks for a life I hoped would one day make sense to all of us.

PURPOSE

Now, when I look back over my life, I do so with deep gratitude and pride.

I see a woman who kept going.

From becoming a high school graduate, to a college graduate, to serving through my military experience, to stepping into real estate investing, to becoming an author, and now building an app designed to support and uplift others — every chapter of my life has been built through determination, faith, sacrifice, and vision.

None of it happened overnight.

Every title I hold today came with a process.

Every accomplishment came with pressure.

Every accolade came with a backstory.

And that is exactly why the idea of having a street named after me means so much.

Because a street would symbolize that I was here.

That I built something.

That I stood for something.

That my journey mattered.

It would be a reminder not only to me, but to my children, my family, and my community, that success does not always begin with ease. Sometimes it begins in survival mode. Sometimes it begins in long nights, missed moments, tears, uncertainty, and sacrifice. But if you remain committed to your purpose, your story can still lead somewhere meaningful.

A street named after me would not simply celebrate my name — it would honor my legacy.

BACKGROUND

It would represent the woman who kept showing up.

The mother who kept pushing for her three children.

The student who kept learning and earned her BA & MS degree.

The veteran who served for her country.

The investor who owns her real estate.

The author who wrote over 20 books.

The visionary who created the Hear to Heal app.

Most importantly, it would represent someone who never stopped believing that her life could become more than what she started with.

I want my life to mean something beyond personal success.

I want it to inspire.

I want it to speak to the people in my community who are still in the middle of their struggle and remind them that they, too, can build a life they are proud of.

Because legacy is not just about what you achieve.

It’s about what your life makes possible for someone else.

And if one day someone were to drive down a street with my name on it, I would hope they’d see more than a sign.

I’d hope they’d see a story of resilience.

A story of growth.

A story of purpose.

A story that says:

She didn’t give up.

She built anyway.

She left something behind.

And to me, that kind of honor would mean everything.
