What could you try for the first time?

Life offers countless opportunities to try something new—moments that can shape us, challenge us, or bring fresh joy and meaning. Reflecting on my own journey, a few standout “first try” experiences come to mind that defined chapters in my life:

My First Times 1️⃣☝️
• Joining the US Navy, a bold step into discipline, service, and adventure 🎖️🪖
• Earning my bachelor’s and master degree, marking years of dedication and growth 📜👩🏽‍🎓
• Purchasing my first home at 21 years old, creating a nest and a foundation of security 🏠
• Having my first child, an indescribable life-changing experience 🍼👶
• Becoming an author, turning different imagination into published reality 📖 ✍️
• Becoming a traveler, opening my eyes to the world’s vastness and beauty ✈️🛳️

Each of these steps was a leap into the unknown, building stories of courage and accomplishment.

On the flip side, there are experiences I keep on my bucket list—like jumping into open water to really feel and embrace that thrill. Yet, for now, the thought gives me pause—I imagine I might become Malcolm (respectfully) from The Cosby Show when faced with that moment. So, I’ll hold onto the dream and respect my current boundaries.

Trying something new doesn’t always mean immediate action, but it often begins with the willingness to imagine, plan, and someday take that step. Whether it’s a small adventure or a life milestone, each first can enrich your story.
